"Hey guys I know a way out on this side"
Daddy visiting an inmate in toy prison
Way too happy for being in prison
And he's found a hideout
Liam's next favorite thing about our new apartment is the plethera of electrical outlets and cords. The hotel put the plastic safety plugs in the outlets, but that doesn't stop Liam from trying to pull them out of each outlet he finds. He also is constantly trying to chew on the lamp cords that run across our living room and we haven't found a way to conceal them yet. So, he hears "no" every time he gets close to the outlets and cords. He understands as well, because one day he and I had a stand off at one of the outlets. He would reach for the outlet and I would say no then he would stop right before touching it. Then put his hand down and begin to reach until I said no again and stopped again. This continued for probably 2-3 minutes before he tired of me and crawled away to find some more trouble. I think Danger should have been Liam's middle name (insert stupid Austin Powers joke here) because he has become a daredevil. From crawling to the edge of beds and attempting to dive off to pulling himself up and falling all over. In the process of all these tumbles Liam got his first black eye : ( We feel so bad because we don't even know what happened. Like I said he has been falling down a lot in his explorations, and one morning he woke up with a swollen eye and by the end of the day it was black. Needless to say, our floors are wooden so I bought some foam puzzle piece mats and placed them around his most frequent fall area the toy prison.
"Oh hey mom. You don't think it's dangerous for me to be sucking on a pen here do you?"

He frequently falls from this perch
Liam also loves crawling to our wall of windows and peering out. He sits there for minutes at a time watching the people and cars down on the street. And much to Mommy's chagrin the field across the way is a spot that men frequently urinate in. Public urination is not a crime here and we see probably 3-5 men pee in this field a day. Luckily, we are 6 floors up so there isn't much of a show. Liam loves to play with the long curtains that cover the windows as well. He plays peek a boo and hides behind them. Liam has begun babbiling much more since we arrived here. He started saying da da da, ma ma ma, & ba ba ba all within one week. And he continues to chatter these consonants whenever he feels delighted. Liam has also gotten very good at charming all of the strangers he meets. I was worried that stranger danger would be kicking in soon because that is what all the development books say, but he loves the attention he gets. He is always sure to give his admirers a smile and sometimes a giggle. Liam has also adapted really well as far as sleeping goes. He is back to sleeping from 6pm-7am and he gets up only once sometimes twice. We hope it will be none soon!

Some other great things about our new home are: The weather. It has been 80-90's and sunny most days. So, Liam and I have been able to make it up to the pool to play and meet some other families. Next, we don't have as much stuff, so Liam has free reign on many of drawers to open & pull up on. Also our apartment is huge so it has given him a lot of space to wonder. Liam also loves that his strollers are easily accessible so he can play with them daily.
Shark Baby playing at the pool too cool for pics
He love, love, loved the slide
Our experience thus far has been so much to take in and overwhelming to say the least. But having Liam here with us has really made it easier for us to recover from the hard times. He has been so much fun and we love seeing him grow up and change so much. We are only sad that we aren't close to our family for you all to see these changes with us. So sorry this blog is dedicated solely to our cute kid ; ) We just wanted to give an update on all the things he is up to, and let some Grandparents in America know he's thriving.
Love you all!
